HOLISTIC SELF-CARE TIPS FOR A HEALTHY BRIDAL SEASON, with Becki Parsons, CP DP
Becki Parsons shared tips and tricks to stay hydrated, well fed, and flexible during our busy bridal season. When we dive into a project, or attempt to clear a line of dresses, we can easily forget simple steps to protect our physical and mental health. In this training, Becki shares the importance of
Hydration: keeping a water bottle at our work station, particularly one that can motivate you to keep sipping on that water!
Snack Breaks: preparing ahead of time for a protein/carb snack combo is critical for a heathy blood sugar level, which translates to sharp brain function. When working on a difficult project, our body is actually burning calories faster than we think, so it’s critical to listen to our body when it’s telling us to stop for a food break.
Movement: stretching, breathing, and even leaving the work space temporarily can reset our body clocks to actually be more productive than if we sat behind the sewing machine for hours at a time. We may be tempted to just sit at our desk and crank out the work, but Becki reminds us to take a break to stay productive in the long run.
Long-term Body Care: specific movements and stretches can help prevent war-related injuries. Pay attention to the movements you repeat daily, or even constantly as you sew. Use the stretching video Becki has shared to guide regular daily exercises!
